We all know how important water is to our bodies. Sometimes it can be tough to drink enough water, however, I’ve found a wonderful way to make water so much more inviting and delicious. Cucumber water!
While cucumber water is wonderful there are many ways you infuse water to give it a wonderful flavor as well as making it easy and more fun to drink throughout the day.
Here’s the cucumber water recipe ~ it’s so simple!
Get a pitcher of water.
Slice cucumbers thinly and add them to the water. (I peeled mine because I got them at the store and they were covered in wax.)
Then add slices of lemon, and even some mint if that sounds good to you.
Put the pitcher in the fridge and let it get nice and cold. The water will have a wonderful taste and you’ll also be reaping the health benefits of lemon and cucumber!
I was really surprised at how fresh and light the water tasted once infused with cucumber. It’s really quite delicious! I enjoy drinking my cucumber water out of one of my favorite fancy wine glasses. It takes the whole experience to the next level. Who says you need to go to a spa to treat yourself well.
You can make infused water out of just about anything you want. Here are a few more ideas on how to make fruit infused water.
fruit, berries, lemon, lime, tangerine, you can even add fresh herbs to the mix.
The fun thing is it’s delicious and a total blast to experiment with flavor combinations. You can’t get this wrong… it’s going to be delicious, no matter what you do.
Dr Oz also has a recipe for an infused green tea. He calls it “weightorade”. It’s really simple to make and simply uses green tea as the base of the infusion instead of plain water. Here’s what you’ll need:
8 cups of green tea, brewed
1 tangerine, sliced
handful of mint leaves
Once you’ve brewed your tea, add the mint leaves and tangerine slices to the tea. Put the pitcher in the fridge and let it mingle over night… this will allow the flavors to mix and mingle and be delicious! This is not only a delicious, healthy drink it’s also said to boost your metabolism which is always good.
One quick tip on infused water….
It’s best when made and drank the same day. The water can become cloudy if you leave it overnight. To keep it fresh and delicious, drink your water the same day you make it.
